Local Attractions to Brydekirk

Conveniant to the M74, A75 and only 16 miles from Carlisle, Brydekirk is close to a whole host of attractions.

The Brig Inn at Brydekirk, sited on the River Annan provides a warm welcome to visitors. Bar meals are served in the lounge, accompanied children are welcome in both the lounge and pool room. Dogs are permitted in the public bar.

Whilst Annan is less than three miles by car, all the regional attractions can accessed via the A75 Carlisle (20 miles), Dumfries (16 miles), Stranraer (88 miles) or the M74 (Glasgow (86 miles).

There is an excellent bus service to Annan and Dumfries with connections to the National coach and rail network.

Annan Activities (01461 800274) provides the opportunity to experience paintballing, clay pigeon shooting and quad biking.

Broom Fisheries (01461 700209) offers trout and coarse fishing at reasonable daily rates. It also acts as a local information centre for river fishing.

Annan town offers swimming baths, a cinema, an interesting museum as well as numerous places to eat.

Apart from local attractions such as fishing and walking, there are a numerous places of interest including "The Devils Porridge" at Eastriggs and the historic Town of Dumfries with it's connections with the poet Robbie Burns, including his house, mausoleum and favourite watering hole, the Globe Inn.

Dumfries has a number of sporting attractions including a ice rink and mini golf. There are at least six 18 hole golf courses within a ten mile radius. There are several night clubs and a variety of restaurants and cafes.

Scottish Tourist Board offices are located by Whitesands in Dumfries .
